Visionary psychedelic artists Alex and Allyson Grey present the annual Deities and Demons Ball, coming to Fillmore Auditorium on Saturday 3rd November 2018! With live music from Diamond Saints, Andrelien, Tsuruda, Naughty Princess and more, plus live art, walkabout performers, out-of-this-world decor, plus visuals and talks from the Greys, this spellbinding event is not to be missed!
Married couple Alex and Allyson Grey are both visual artists and the co-founders of The Chapel of Sacred Mirrors (CoSM), a non-profit church supporting Visionary Culture in Wappingers Falls, New York. The couple met at Boston Museum School, where they took LSD together, which has informed both of their artwork. The Chapel of Sacred Mirrors houses twenty-one of Alex Grey's life-sized paintings, the Sacred Mirrors, which explore the divine nature of humanity through archetypal human experiences as praying, meditation, kissing, copulating, pregnancy, birth, nursing and dying, and the complexity of the human's inner and outer worlds. This kind of psychedelic realism was also encapsulated by a large installation by Alex and Allyson called Heart Net, which was displayed at Baltimore's American Visionary Art Museum in 1998-99. Alex and Allyson both teach courses in Visionary Art at The Open Center in New York City; Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado; the California Institute of Integral Studies and the Omega Institute in Rhinebeck, New York.
