If you're one of those people who miss the days when radio stations held live events, this show's gonna be right up your alley! Idobi's Radio Summer School event is making a stop at the Fillmore Auditorium in Denver on Saturday, July 19th. This is the second year that the station puts on this live tour. In this 2025, version of the Radio Summer School program, bands like Rain City Drive, Charlotte Sands & Taylor Acorn will be taking the stage.

Pretty much every sub-genre in rock is going to be represented at this event. If you're coming out to root for a particular band, that's awesome, but this is also one of those events where you can essentially come in blind and still have a blast. Radio Summer School: Sophmore Year

The brainchild of some of the most famous people in rock music over the last few decades, idobi Radio had been kind of "quiet" for the last few years. Here is a quick history lesson: The online station is owned by Joel Madden of Good Charlotte, Sébastien Lefebvre, Chuck Comeau of Simple Plan, and other partners. The concept of a free online radio station was cutting edge in the late 90s, and it helped small indie bands get their start. Over the years, the concept needed a bit of a re-tooling, and that's how they came up with the Summer School tour!

What Is This idobi Radio Summer School Show?

It's a pretty simple concept: the radio station picks a few indie rock bands, usually with different styles, to go on tour! The Summer School's freshman year in 2024 was such a success that they're going on the road again in 2025. This stop in Denver, Colorado, is set to feature Rain City Drive, Charlotte Sands & Taylor Acorn! If you're a fan of any of these bands, it's certainly a great chance to catch them live. Even if that's not the case, though, you can still have a blast at this Summer School show. The event works like an old-school radio station fest, with a host and likely some DJs keeping the crowd up on their feet the entire night. If you want to see the future of rock music in a show that's a bit of a blast from the past, this is your chance!

Is The Floor at The Fillmore Auditorium a Good Spot?

If you want to live that old school rock show experience, the floor is where you need to be. Obviously, to find a good spot near the stage, you'll want to arrive early so that you can clear the metal detectors and other security features that are a staple of the venue. There's no shame in wanting to be a little more comfortable while still enjoying the show. In that case, look for a spot off to the side or the back of the theater in the other designated sections. The floor is great, but it ultimately comes down to what type of evening you're looking to have.
