Derek Ryan Smith, professionally known as Mod Sun, is an immensely talented rapper, singer, songwriter and musician originating from Bloomington, Minnesota. During his epic run in the industry, he has released five incredible solo studio records, three EPs, and six killer mixtapes. Starting out as a drummer in the pop punk outfit the Semester and post-hardcore powerhouse Four Letter Lie and Scary Kids Scaring Kids, Mod Sun kick started his solo rap career in the year 2009… And he hasn’t looked back since! The release of his smash hit fourth solo studio record Internet Killed The Rockstar saw a melodic move back to his pop punk heritage and his most recent studio record God Save the Teen followed in its footsteps.
